Our medical community has the mindset of the prescribed pills to treat their symptoms instead of actually curing the patient. The patients mostly end up with more side effects needed to be treated that is caused by these medications.
Before, the theory for diabetic is to stay away from sugar and to take insulin. Now the emphasis is on balancing one’s diet. 50-60% of the daily food intake should come from good carbohydrates, 15-20% from proteins and 20-30 grams of daily fiber.
Good carbohydrates include those that comes from fruits and most vegetables with the exception of corns and potatoes and whole grains. The high start content of these are the reason why they are excluded. Empty or bad carbohydrates have little value nutritionally like that of bread with white flour, desserts, cereals and pastas.
