Are Birth Control Pills Related to Having Yeast Infection?

However, with all the good things that these birth control pills has to offer, it is not something that has no side effect. Many women report getting a yeast infection shortly after they start using pills. Is there really a connection with the two?
First of all, birth control pills work in a way that it alters the woman’s hormone levels. During menstrual cycles each month, the altered hormone levels prevent the eggs from fertilizing which prevents pregnancy. However, if synthetic hormones are introduced, it will alter the body’s natural hormone balance leading to a number of problems and unwanted side effects.
For some, this means that if they will use pills, they will develop a yeast infection. To others, after many years when they stop using pills, yeast infection comes. If the first problem is for you, you can do few things. First, talk to your doctor about trying a different pill or a different form of contraception. Each birth control pills have slightly different effects on a woman’s hormones. But if you decide to stay on the pill but is struggling with yeast infection, you can treat the yeast using natural treatment and a change in your diet. You may eliminate the problem altogether if you are able to nourish your body and paying attention to the foods you eat.
