Advantages and Disadvantages of Dark Chocolates

Not only do kids love chocolates and ice creams.  Even elders love the tastes of them that sometimes they even go beyond their limit.  Chocolates and ice creams are truly the delights whether for holidays or even no holidays.  They are also great to give as gifts to our loved ones during Christmas season or Valentine’s Day.  These two are the treat for the family and also great as package for journey.  Dark chocolates also have advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of chocolates include the ability of dark chocolates to lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, produce anti-oxidants into the body, lower heart problems risks, promote good digestion, prevent cancer, slow down nervous activities and help in the treatment of kidney stones and anemia.

The disadvantages of dark chocolates on the other hand include being high on calories for it is high in sugar and fat, it contain elements that are addictive like caffeine, sugar and theobromine which elevates mood, it contain vasoactive amines which leads to migraine problems, it dilates the brain’s vessels and it is high in arginine, a necessity in the herpes virus replication.
